DOMAINE DE COURTEILLAC BORDEAUX SUPERIEUR ROUGE 2014

GRAPE VARIETIES :   80 % merlot, 10 % cabernet-sauvignon, 10 % cabernet franc. Average age of the vines 25 ans. Yield 31 hl/ha – Date of the harvest : 7th October 2014
VINIFICATION :   Mechanical harvesting. Automatic sorting.anEgrappage. Slow fermentation conducted between 27° and 30°C. Post fermentation maceration for 10 days. Malolactic fermentation partly in oak barrels.
VIGNOBLE :   The soil is limestone and clay over a limestone sub-soil. A geology that isn’t without connection to the plateau of Saint-Emilion, since they share the same origin.
AGEING :   50 % in oak barrels (1/2 1 year, 1/2 new) and 50 % in concrete vats for 16 months.
WORK IN THE VINEYARD :   Pruning guyot double. Selective de-budding. Mechanical thin-out of the leaves.
TASTING NOTES :   Nice ruby color, rather dense. A nice fruity flavor, with breed and presence. In the mouth the wine is round and fleshy, complex, elegant and tasty, with a good balance. The final is fruity, firm and persistent, with an elegant and light wooden taste.
